Our Mission

In everyday life our brain integrates information from different senses to recognize objects in our surroundings and guide behavior. In the cortex, multisensory integration can have a profound effect on cognitive processes such as perception, memory and attention.

Our goal is to study the circuits underlying multisensory integration in the cortex and their role in the neural coding of objects.

Our approach

We employ a multidisciplinary approach to the study of cortical physiology. Methods available at the lab include in vivo extracellular recordings with neuropixel probes, computational approaches, in vitro patch clamp on brain slices and neuroanatomy. All our methods take advantage from mouse and virus genetics to achieve cell-type specificity.
